Quantification of Resistance and Pressure Drop at High Temperature for Various Suction Pressures During Iron Ore Sintering

Permeability and air flow rate in the bed during iron ore sintering is crucial to control sinter quality productivity, due its influence on flame front speed. In present work, permeability of an blend was analysed utilising simultaneously measured pressure temperature at multiple points bed. Three different zones were categorized, i.e., humidified (green) bed, region maximum resistance (high-temperature zone) based (>100°C), sintered The experiments conducted a lab-scale milli-pot (diameter 53 mm, height 500 mm) fitted with six taps transient variations pressure-drop analysed. quantified for three by correlating gradient each zone (ΔP/L) specific kinetic energy (v2) sintering. high further divided into two sub-zones i.e. pre-melt reaction (PMRZ) granule melting zone. PMRZ responsible highest changes structure much greater gas volumetric temperature. included various physico-chemical processes it observed that suction value across High productivity pressure. yield influenced holding time over 1200°C exponential growth function proposed estimate yield.
